Even Morgan himself cooked up funky follow-ups using \u201cThe Sidewinder\u201d recipe including \u201cThe Rumproller,\u201d which was recorded the next year. Beyond the groovy title tune (which was written by Andrew Hill) the quintet featuring Joe Henderson on tenor saxophone, Ronnie Mathews on piano, Victor Sproles on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums traverses diverse territory from the post-bop of \u201cDesert Moonlight\u201d to the calypso of \u201cEclipso\u201d to the mournful closing ballad \u201cThe Lady\u201d dedicated to Billie Holiday.
