Radiohead announce “Hail to the Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009”, a new live album that has allowed the band to re-evaluate their relationship with their sixth studio album “Hail to the Thief”. The album is now available to pre-order as a one-off pressing. It features recordings from performances in London, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires and Dublin between 2003 and 2009, mixed by Ben Baptie and mastered by Matt Colton.<\/p>\n
Thom Yorke said of the new live album, “When I was thinking about how to create arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet\/Hail to the Thief theater production, I asked to hear some archived live recordings of the songs. I was shocked at the energy we played with back then. I barely recognized us, and it helped me find a way forward. We decided to mix and release those live recordings (it would have been crazy to keep them just for ourselves). The whole thing was a very cathartic process. We really hope you enjoy them.”<\/p>\n
Recently, Thom Yorke co-created the critically acclaimed production ‘Hamlet Hail to the Thief’ – a fast-paced adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, accompanied by a deconstructed score of reworked songs from the 2003 album ‘Hail to the Thief’. Rolling Stone UK wrote of the new production: “The greatest testament to Yorke and his co-writers is that these worlds merge so seamlessly – as if they were always meant to be together.”<\/p>\n
